Scott William McCreery is a native to Bend, Oregon. Having grown up along the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains, many of Scott’s paintings are influenced by the magnificent natural world that surrounds him. His art style, best described as abstract realism, allows the exploration between the tangible and the abstract, creating pieces that are both evocative and thought-provoking.
Although Scott works predominantly with watercolors, he also enjoys the tactile nature of graphite drawings and the bold expression of acrylic paintings. The human form is a central focus in his work, reflecting a deep attraction to people and their myriad experiences. Art is an intrinsically human endeavor, and he strives to capture the essence of our shared humanity in every piece created.
Watercolor holds a special place in Scott's heart due to its flowing and spontaneous qualities. He believes that water is the best art teacher, requiring a balance of surrender and control, mirroring the dynamic and ever-changing nature of life itself.
When not in the art studio, you can catch Scott on the dancefloor, in the river,, playing games with friends, at the gym, or training Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
